Last year, a friend asked me if I wanted to join her on the marketing team for a local tech group called CityCamp Raleigh. I couldn’t make their first meeting, so I stayed on the sidelines until she approached me again to help with a CityCamp Raleigh spinoff - the Triangle Wiki. Fast forward a few months, and here I am (see link, above) being interviewed about the wiki on the local news. Last night, I found out that this type of volunteering has a title: ”cognitive surplus.” Google it!
